Can't get WEP to work in Win 98 SE

I have a Compaq 5140 Presario with Win 98SE and an SMC
2802W Wireless 54G PCI card installed. The PCI card will
connect fine with MAC filtering enabled at my base
station, but will not connect if WEP is enabled. I have a
second Win 98 SE computer with same model of PCI card. It
works with MAC filtering AND WEP enabled. I pursued the
matter with the manufacturer of the PCI card and they
suggest that it could be a setting or missing file in the
OS (Win 98 SE). Do you have any ideas for me?
