can't get past password entry on Linksys BEFW11S4 Rev 2

I bought a used Linksys BEFW11S4 Rev 2 wireless router.
FW 1.42.7 9/3/02
I reset the router. Connected successfully with my wireless PDA.
Reconfigured the IP address to 192.168.0.130.
Default password is "admin".
I have wireless connectivity between my desktop (98SE) and my
PDA (ppc2002).
The PDA screen is so small that it's hard to see what the router
configuration is. Would be much better from the desktop.

Problem is that I can't administer the router from the desktop.
I get as far as the password screen, but "admin" is not accepted.
Just loops on the password screen. Turning off zonealarm doesn't help.
Windows 98SE. Desktop has static IP 192.168.0.1

Suggestions?
Thanks, mike

Assuming you reset the Router to factory defaults, try another Browser.

Mike:

Perhaps you have disabled Java, or some other required service, on your
browser.

If you can hardware reset it it may go back to admin. Mine has a pinhole
reset on it. Read the manual, it should cover the problem. If you cant
find it, its usually availlable to download from their website.

Thanks for all the response.
The suggestions I'm getting are for things that I thought I'd stated I'd
already tried in my original posting.
I have reset it.
I have turned off the firewall.
It works fine wireless; accepts the password. Just can't get the wired
RJ45 connection to get past the password page to the setup screen.

I can deal with it the way it is...just would be slightly easier wired
on the big screen.
thanks,
mike
