I'm pretty sure I went step by step...but I can go thru it again.....I'll try again....very slowly....

Do you follow each step of step 1 or did you skip any steps? Skipping steps is a huge no-no if you want your network to work...

Hmmm...still no luck...I'm still wondering if I need to un-do the WinXP network setup wizard that I ran on my 98 machine....could that be the cause? Does anyone know how to do that?
Thanks!!!

Hi,
I am having trouble getting 2 Win 98 SE pcs to see each other on my network. I have had them seeing each other in the past, so I am 99% sure my physical network is ok.
Since that time, I installed Win XP on the 2nd pc (and put the XP network setup stuff on the first pc) and had the 2 seeing each other ok that way. I have since gone back to Win98 on the 2nd pc and now can not get them to see each other.
Could it be because I have installed the WinXP Network setup files on the first machine.
If not, can some one please offer some other reasons why they won't see each other?
Appreciate it very much!
Andy
