can't find server/host

I cannot connect to the school network server to get on
the internet or check my email. However, I can access a
network data drive from my computer, which confuses me
because I'm thinking that means I am connected.

Right before I log into the network, I see a black
screen that says:

C:\>rem - By Windows 98 Network - C:\WINDOWS\net start

C:\>

I am pretty sure that this screen only came up since
I've been having problems. I'm using microsoft 98 second
edition.

if anyone can help or has any advice, i'd be eternally
thankful.

Thanks-

Brian

The screen you see isn't part of your problem, since that would be DOS-mode
networking and you aren't in DOS mode. I suggest you check with your school
network staff to find the problem.

Nah, "NET START" is from the TCP/IP stack in Microsoft networking.
