Can't find printer in Directory

We have 2000 Server with 25 XP WS. They have been working fine with the
printer. I recently tried to add a printer and it took forever to find it in
the directory and eventually found no printers. I added the printer using
its name which worked fine. The printer now says "Denied Access to
printer....." but it prints a test page fine and from Word fine. Any help
would be greatly appreciated. I want to be able to find the printer in the
directory without a long search.
