Thanks for your response, Carey! You are recommending the following,
I take it:
[quote]
TIP #8: File and Printer Sharing not listed as an available service,
or no services option given
Click Start, click Run, type REGEDIT and then hit Enter. Open this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Networ
k
Delete the value named "NoFileSharingControl".
Also, delete these folders if they exist in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Networ
k
NoFileSharing
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Networ
k
NoPrintSharing
[end quote]
I have checked in the registry, but unforunately, none of these folders
("NoFileSharing", "NoPrintSharing", etc.) exist in the indicated places.
The value "NoFileSharingControl" isn't there either.
I have no "Network Neighborhood" on my desktop, even though
Tweak UI says it is there.
Any other thoughts? Should I just reinstall Win98?
Thanks again.
Michael
