Installed a Linksys USB adapter, internet connection worked. Contracted a
virus, format the "c" drive and reloaded XP with the system disks that came
with computer. Tried to reload Linksys, the Wireless icon in the bottom
toolbar is gray, when I right click it says "disabled". When I try to
connect using the "Connect using XP" the system does nothing. Can anyone
help a newbie?

Thanks for reading my post.

Hi
It might be that your original XP loaded outdated drivers, that need to be
upgraded.
Log to Linksys' support site see what are the requirement for the card and
its drivers, and make sure that they are in existence on your computer.
