cant connect to Symbol Spectrum 24 Model 3020

I purchased from a yard sale a Symbol Spectrum 24 Model 3020 ,Which I
am able to go into setup etc.
I added MAC addresses of my laptop and tried to use it as a AP
accessing my network wirelessly. And I dont see any network available.
Is there something I have not done ?
