Hello,
I know this is an old post so i hope this gets to you. Here are two ideas.
I had a customer with this exact problem. I ran ipconfig, ipconfig renew
all and nothing seemed wrong. What the problem was with this machine was,
some sort of spyware ahd changed the home page twice. first it changed it to
a redirect page then it changed it to a blank page. I was able to delete the
homepage in IE tools.
The machine could go online but when IE was closed the home page would
get changed again. I had to find the files that the spyware installed in the
reg. after deleting them and then reinstalling the spyware programs the
machine ran fine.
Also you may want to lookup your update logs and see if maybe an update
failed.
I hope this helps. Best of luck to you,
