Can you tell us more about the PC and the exact error message, word for
word?

Thanks,
Carey

I can give you a more specific answer if you give more specific details. You
can tell us word-for-word what the error message is and what you do to make
that error appear?

Thanks,
Carey

The complete message is windows security error your
computer will restart... something like that and i
receive this when it is time to communicate with the
router for receive a ip address.
If ́'m not using the option for receive a address
automaticaly and i put myself a address the computer will
complete his boot and i able to communicate with the
router... but i can't ping myself ?!
I reinstall windows and i got the same problem..
I have a other computer (PII 300Mhz)with windows 98se and
the same network card and every thing is working properly.
Thank for your help.

This can be caused by bad RAM or a cable/cord or part not plugged all the
way in. Also check to see what programs are starting using MSCONFIG and
disable any that aren't vital. Finally, try running AdAware on the system
and remove any found Spyware (www.lavasoftusa.com)
