As an NT4 domain admin, I constantly use UNC path commands like
\\workstationname\c$ to connect to workstation hard drives to copy files,
etc. The workstations are Win2000 and NT4. However, all of our newest
workstations, which are XP Pro, refuse to allow me to connect to the c$
share. I am not that familiar with XP and have not been able to find a
solution on the web. Please help!

TIA,

Art Clark

What error are you receiving when attempting to map to
the default admin shares on the XP pro machines?

"No network provider accepted the given network path"

I should note for clarity & expediency:

I am using the NT domain Administrator account to attempt to connect. All
the usual suspects have been eliminated: Simple File Sharing is off, ICF is
off, "Access this computer from the network" rights are OK, and "File and
Printer Sharing" is on. It still may turn out that I've just stupidly
overlooked something that should be obvious, but I don't think so. I have
run through all of the "check this, check that" tips that I have found on
the web.

I'm hoping that someone has run into this and figured out a registry hack to
fix it.

You have nabled netbios over tcp/ip and they
are joined to the domain successfully?
