I have 2 Win98 PCs connected together thru a Broadband router with
print server. All works well. When I installed all this I was
prompted to enter a NETWORK password which I did on both PCs. Note
that I am NOT using a WINDOWS password. Now I wish to remove the need
for entering a NETWORK password. MS Article *152104 refers to
removing the WINDOWS password but Not the NETWORK password. The
Windows help file says I should use the "Other Password" area in
Control Panel/Passwords but this area is Greyed out. How do I remove
the NETWORK (not WINDOWS) password?

Win98 doesn't check the network password unless you're logging into a
server domain. In a workgroup like yours, you can enter anything or
nothing at the network password prompt and click OK.

Win98 does check the Windows password, so remove the Windows password.
