If you have "Use default gateway on remote network" checked in the
properties of your VPN connection, you may not have a way to get outside the
VPN conenction. That being said, if you are trying to access the external
address of the server, and you can't get to the outside, it won't work. Make
sure you either have split tunnelling enabled (uncheck that "use default
gateway..." box), or use the interal address of the VPN server.
