Can't bind protocol to PC Card NIC

I am running Win98 on a sony vaio picturebook laptop. I am trying to
install a Microsoft MN120 NIC. When I go to device manager, it tells me
the card in installed with no problems. However, when I go to the "network"
section of control panel, it tells me that the network card is installed.
My problem is under the "bindings" section, there are not protocols bound to
this network card and no matter what I do, I can't get any protocols to bind
to this card. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Everything might be OK. Try using the network adapter.

If a computer only has one network adapter, the adapter name and
protocol name appear in the list of network components, with no
explicit indication of the binding. For example:

Client for Microsoft Networks
Ethernet Adapter
TCP/IP
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

If a computer has more than one network adapter, the bindings are
shown explicitly. For example:

Client for Microsoft Networks
Dial-Up Adapter
Ethernet Adapter
TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter
TCP/IP -> Ethernet Adapter
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

Unfortunately, the laptop has 3 network adapters I use. The 1st 2 do
explicitly have the bindings mentioned. The lack of mention is what got me
started. I may be on the wrong track but from my review of the system
settings, the card is working with no conflicts per control panel, there are
just no protocols bound to the card if you believe the "network" section in
control panel. Thanks

I have exactly the same problem with a DWL 120 USB
wireless NIc, All other adapers are bound, but no bindins
appear for this device. If you get any advice would love
to hear the results.
