Lee,
I just went through this same thing myself. In my case, it turned out
that the old network adaptor was still listed in the network properties.
Once I removed it and rebooted, the new card worked just fine. I
think that having TCP/IP bound to both the old adaptor and the new
adaptor must have confused the system. LAN access worked, just like
your situtation, because I use NetBEUI for it.
