Cannot upload to Vimeo

I wonder if anybody else has similar problems...

So far, paid up $70, but have not been to upload a 500MB movie,
despite a dozen tries with FF, IE, and the 3 different methods
(direct, java, ajax) they provide.

The data rate occassionally falls to a very low figure like
10kbytes/sec (should be 4x to 5x that) and then after a few hours it
bombs out with an error message.

Either it is something at my end (yet ftp and sftp etc works fine for
big files) or they are having problems with loading and are dropping
connections. Youtube does this anyway and a lot of people have
problems with that one.

I wonder if anybody has any ideas?

There is no contact email I can find.

I should add the ISP is ZEN and they are normally very good.

I wonder why these video services don't support FTP or similar. That
*works*, unlike these stupid browser-based uploads.

Yes; I have been there.

I managed to upload OK using their beta Desktop Uploader, which is a
bit of a hack (lies about the upload progress but manages to do it
eventually). Oddly enough the only browsers they support are Safari
and Chrome, which is a bit weird.

I was concerned this is an ISP throttling issue for those particular
packet types.
