Hello.
I have a server running Windows Server 2000 SP 4.
While on the same subnet or any other I "cannot" UNC to it i.e.
\\Servername\ using IP address or Server Name but I "can" connect using
Terminal Services with IP or servername.
When I try to connect to the server via UNC it takes about 5 minutes to get
a kickback error on any Windows 2000/XP workstation.
The error is "The network path was not found" with a Red X and \\servername\
above the error.
From this server I "can" connect to other servers and workstations.

Could you please help?

Thanks.
Iram/mcp

do you have any firewall or NAT running on the server? What do you receive if using net view \\serverip?

I have no firewall or NAT running on the server. When I run net view
\\IPaddress it takes about 5 minutes and comes back with
"System Error 64 has occured"
"The specified network name is no longer available".
But I can still ping the server and terminal service into it...

Thanks.

did you replace the ipaddress with the real IP? If yes, you may have a connection issue.

Thanks for the good info. I am going to check settings on both the switch and
NIC.
