Hello all... we just upgraded one of our servers from Windows 2000
Server to 2003.
We have a problem accessing the server through UNC, in that we cant.

I can ping the server by name, with no problem, and it resolves to the
correct IP address.
However, when i try to go to a share on the server from a client, it
gives me the message about:
"Windows cannot find \\server\share. Check the spelling and try again."

The share has read permissions currently for everyone, so that i know
there is no problem there. I have checked the Windows Firewall on the
server, and it has File and Printer Sharing allowed. I cannot terminal
service into the server with no problem. I can HTTP to it with no
problem. Only UNC's give a problem. I can UNC to other servers on the
network without any problems. I am at a loss as to where to even debug
from here.

Any help, appreciated.
Thanks!

Try this: net view \\server. What's the system error?

When i run net view i get:
<output>
System error 53 has occurred.

The network path was not found.
</output>

When i google this it tells me that it is most likely a DNS problem,
resolving the name to the wrong IP.
But if i ping the name, it is coming back with the right IP, so i am
confused about that.

And we do have other Win 2003 servers set up which work fine, and we
did nothing different on the install of this machine.
