My wife and I are connected to the internet via a router connected to a modem (RR). I am trying to net work with her and her printer. She can open and work on my data files but I cannot open hers. I set her machine up and use a thumb drive from hers to set mine up and it still doesn't work. Is every thing case sensitive? On hers, her name is caps and on mine her name is lower case. I don't know how to change mine.

I am using windows XP home.

Also, I freshly installed a new hard drive on her machine and goofed installing SP2 so I uninstalled it and reinstalled XP home and then installed SP2

How to Setup Windoze Sharing:
<http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040>
Yech. I don't even understand it.

Here's overkill in action:
<http://www.wellesley.edu/Computing/FileSharing/Windows/win2kxp.html>
Still kinda confusing.

Yeah, this looks humanly readable:

The usual goof is to have the two machines on different workgroup
names. I use "WORKGROUP" for everything, but XP comes with "MSHOME"
for the default workgroup. Fix.
