Hi all,

I have a computer using Win98 Second edition, and I have newly installed
a lan card into motherboard and startup windows 98, it can find the lan card
and installed for me. However, after re-boot, an error message about the Lan
card appeared. When I try to figure out the problem inside the control
panel, I find that here is a "!" sign at the lan card. However, when I plug
the network cable into the lan card, it show he proper light. I have no idea
what is going on, can anyone help me?

When you highlight the card in Device Manager and select Properties, what
does that tell you about the problem with the card?

I have the same problem and it comes up with "The NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loaders could not load the device driver for the device (code 2).

I see Steve has given you a suggestion, so try his suggestion first.

Steve's suggestion didn't work. Do you have any other
ideas?

Thanks

Check the motherboard for leaking capacitors. This is a known symptom.
