Cannot see drives

Hi I have just purchased a new server with Windows 2003 server std edition
installed.

I added my first user in smallbusiness.local

I can log on as the user (win xp pro) but cannot see any of the drives on
the server in map a driver ( I can see the server, when I right click on the
server and use open it comes up with a message you do not have permission.

All the drives have full permission for everyone in the smallbusiness group
to use them.

Any idea's where I am going wrong?

I am new to servers but had no trouble in adding users on our old server
running Win 2000 sbs.

Thanks Bob

Run rsop.msc on the client workstation. You need to take a close look at
the User Rigths Assignment policy section of the SBS group policy affecting
your client machine. Look at the area "Access this computer from over the
network" in particular. Is the smallbusiness group allowed this right?

Hi - are you running SBS2003? If so, best to post questions in
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs.
SBS is its own beast, is very wizard-centric, and it will run well if you
follow all its wizards - it's annoying at times, but it will give you a
functional network if you do it that way. You need to join computers to the
domain - and you ought to do it by creating the computer accounts in the
server management console and then run http://servername/connectcomputer -
this will make sure the computers are in the correct OU and that group
policies, etc., are applied correctly.
