Cannot see computers in network neighborhood

I set up a peer to peer network between two computers,
the host computer using Windows XP and the client using
Windows 98. The host can see both computers in network
places but the client cannot see itself or the host
computer in network neighborhood. We are able to share
an internet connection. Need help.
