I am setting up a simple peer to peer wireless ad-hoc
network on two Thinkpads and a Micron desktop. One
Thinkpad with Win XP Pro and the Micron with Win SE are ok
and "see" each other.
One Thinkpad T21 with Win98 SE is not seen by the Micron.
When pinged by the Micron there just time out messages.
When the Micron is pinged from the Thinkpad there is a
data normal data response. All computers are assigned to a
workgroup named "US".
The thinkpad "Jim" shows up in network neighborhood but
not in the entire network on the thinkpad. The
workgroup "US" does not show up in the entire network. I
have file and printer sharing enabled and client for
Microsoft networks installed. The hardware is D-Link 650+
adapter and 120+ USB adapter on the desktop. The hardware
and basic RF net seems fine. The properties for "Jim" show
it is in workgroup "US".
I have loaded all the Windows updates defined for the Win
98 system on the thinkpad T21.
I would appreciate any help you might provide as I have
wasted much time on this.
Thanks,
Jim
