OS = Fedora Core 8, Router linksys wrt54G, adapter Asus WL-167g

I just cannot seem to crack it. I cannot receive an IP address via
DHCP from a wireless router

* Router is up, other computers and a WII are seeing it fine and
getting their IP addresses in range
192.168.2.100-200.

* iwlist wlan0 scan shows the link at 48/100 strength

* ifconfig wlan0 shows link up

* module rt2500usb module automatically loads upon insertion of USB
NIC

* OS reports NIC at Bus 3 Dev 2

* essid checked in conf and key correct. (I'd assume errors would come
fast if they were incorrect).
One thing though, is the key supposed to be encrypted as it states in
the scan and if so where should
this encrypted key be found?
