We have just rebuilt our server, and our domain name went from
AdvancedPower.local to Advanced.local.

I disjoined the workstations from the old domain, and when I try to join the
new domain using advanced.local it asks for the name and password of an
account with permission, then I get:

The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "Advanced.local":

The format of the specified network name is invalid.

If I attempt to join just using Advanced, I get

A domain controller for the domain Progressive could not be contacted.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the NICs in device manager, but
no help.

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!!

You did not mentioned any thing about DNS. Assuming the DNS is not change, make sure you have correct DNS settings. also you may want to delete the old host records from the DNS before joining the domain.

Thanks, Bob. I had made sure that the adapter was set to get the DNS server
address automatically, and had verified with ipconfig, but I did not look at
the host records. I'll check that this afternoon.
