Cannot open websites

My friend has an MN 700 with MN 720 and WinXP on a laptop and a
desktop.

The problem is that he is unable to access certain websites on the
first go. But as soon as he hits refresh, the page appears. Dunno what
to do.

Is it a base station problem or a Windows XP problem.
I have checked all the settings on the base station and even
factory-reseted it. But it doesnt help.

Could it be an IE issue.

If the problem appeared a couple of days ago, might be
due to an attack going on the Internet (I'm having the
same problem sporadically). Just wait a few days and
hopefully should go away.

Otherwise, if it has been around for a while, it is a DNS
problem. Most often this is an Internet problem (a DNS
server is not responding). First, check the DNS settings
on the router (are they automatically assigned?) and on
the PC (are they automatically assigned?). You can also
start a command prompt and enter nslookup followed by the
domain name of the web site you are accessing (e.g.
microsoft.com) and see if you get errors. That would
confirm an Internet problem.

Thanks for the advice, Friend. I guess he bought a new base station.
It is not a problem that he is unable to see the websites. It is only
when he hits enter he is unable to get the webpages. As soon as you
hit refresh, it's there.
I think it is rather a faulty base station. What do you think.

Thanks for the advice, Friend. I guess he bought a new base station.

Tell him to connect the modem directly and see if the problem persists. Then
you'll know if it's a problem through the router. What kind of signal
strength does he have?
