Hello,
I am using 2 notebooks and a buffalo Airstation which is connected to
my internet provider via a cable modem (Cisco CVA 122).
One machine runs Windows 2000, the other Windows XP .
My Yakumo PCMCIA wireless card works fine on both systems. I plug it
into a system and Windows automatically configures the card so that
I can connect to the internet.
But when I try the same with my Buffalo WLI-PCM-L11GP, which also uses
802.11b, I can't connect although the card can talk to the access
point.
For further investigation I downloaded the WLAN-scanner 'PCTEL' which
told me, that there were problems obtaining an IP-address.
And most probably there is no problem with the card itself because the
same happend when I used a Netgear 401 card.

Does somebody have an idea what the solution is ?

Systems used: 1 IBM Thinkpad 240 X, 1 Acer Aspire 1310

Many thanks for you help !

Regards,
Patrick

You may want to read the thread called "can't get DCHP server to give
IP address" started 10/29/2003 to see if anything there might help.
