Cannot install base

I have had my system set prviously, woked fine on a lap
and two desktops.I just purchased a new E-Machine. I get
through the installation fine until it programs the base.
I keep getting the message, cannot configure base
station, disconnect any fire walls, (I did) reset base,
(I did) disable any anti virus programs, (I did). Nothing
seem to work. Help.

Jim, I had the same issue. I had a base station connected
to my system. I then uninstalled the base because of
problems. I used different configuration names when
setting it up the second time. It gave me the same
messages you are receiving. I ended up re-installing
using exactly the same names from the original set-up.
This seemed to please the networking gods and allowed the
base station to be updated. Hope this helps.
