Disconnect the wireless, and ping 192.168.2.1. Does it
respond? If not, there is a problem either with the cable
or the ethernet adapter. Is the adapter enabled and
working? Check Control Panel/System/Devices. Also make
sure the cable is properly inserted. If possible try with
a second cable that works with another computer. Also try
a different port on the router.
Once you can ping... if it still does not work, run
command prompt and enter ipconfig. Do you get an IP for
the wired connection. Is it in the subnet 192.168.2.x? If
not, the wired connection is misconfigured -- Check its
properties on Network Connections. The TCP/IP settings
should be similar to those of the wireless connection
(typically server assigned IP). Make sure the connection
is not firewalled (ICF can be set per connection).
Another problem can be on the router. Did you set MAC
filtering? The MAC for the wired adapter is different
from the one for the wireless, and it may be filtered.
