Go to IE | Tools | Options | Connections tab. Change it to
use the LAN, instead of dialup. On the Advanced settings
button, check there is no proxy (typically there is none).
Go to the other computer and connect to the router. Go to
the router screen Wireless. Make sure SSID broadcasts are
enabled, and wireless access enabled.
Check if it works now.
If not, go back to the laptop. Go to control panel |
network connections, and open the properties dialog for the
wireles connection. Change TCP/IP settings to use IP
192.168.2.2, mask 255.255.255.0, DNS and gateway
192.168.2.1. Go back to the router, and change the DHCP
start range to 192.168.2.3.
