Hi,

I can't seem to disable my Local Area Connection. It always gives me the
error:

"Error Disabling Connection- It is not possible to disable the connection at
this time. This connection may have one or more protocols that do not support
Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or system
account."

My computer has been checked my a security professional so I have no viruses
or spyware. The account I'm on is an admistrator account so i have the
rights to disable it. The drivers all seem fine and they haven't been
touched or changed at all for my network card.

I believe the issue maybe due to my catalog files. I ran qfecheck and it
said a lot of my windows update files had:

"The catalog file is damaged or an invalid catalog."

I checked manually the file versions and in the registry and they were al
correct. Even the timestamps and the size of the file matched what was in
the knowledge bases so it's gotta be something else.

Is the catalog being damaged the problem to my not being able to disable my
LAN connection or is it something else? And how would I fix it? Thanks

Some files may be damaged. Try to use netsh to fix it first. This search result may help,

Cannot disable Network ConnectionBut if I right click and Disable the Local Area Connection it comes up saying this. Error Disabling Connection: It is not possible to disable the connection ...

I am in need of a netsh script that will disable the "Local Area Connection" interface then re-enable that same interface. Spin Windows Networking 3 11-03-2005 12:58 AM
