Cannot connect with WPA Encryption

I have a WRT54G Linksys Wireless G broadband router w/ WPA TKIP
encryption and a laptop with a WPC54G Wireless G Notebook Adapter,
both of which have the lastest drivers and firmware. My problem is
that there seems to be no way to connect to a network with WPA
encryption with me laptop. The Linksys software on the laptop sees
the encryption as WEP, and therefore I can't connect. When I read the
release notes on the driver for the adapter, it said that it worked
with WPA encryption, so I think the software is where the problem
lies. As long as I am not using WPA, there is no problem, but once I
turn it on the laptop cannot connect.
