Cannot connect to net 44/8

Hi...

have a question and hope anybody can help me.

I'm a radio-amateur and want to connect to the hamnet 44/8 with a modem
over ppp0.
I'm using Linux-Redhat 7.1.

Install the wvdial rpm, then "man wvdial" to see the simple format of the
/etc/wvdial.conf file, which will be something like:

[Dialer Defaults]
Modem = /dev/ttyS1
Baud = 57600
Init = ATZ
Init2 = AT S11=50
Username = yourwebnetname
Password = yourwebnetpassword

[Dialer webnet]
Phone = www-wxyz

"chown root:root /etc/wvdial.conf; chmod 0600 /etc/wvdial.conf" for
security, then "wvdial webnet &" should be a painless connection. That
should get you started.
