cannot change IP setting

I go to control panel and open up networking just want to
change my ip address, but whenever I open up and tcp/ip
and try to specify an ip address, nothgin happen I just
cannot enter a number into the Ip address column.

can anyone please help me...

The problem might be video-related. Download and install the latest
ME-compatible driver program for your video card. If you've changed
any of the Windows display fonts, restore them to their default
values.
