Cannot access network share

I am having a problem accessing a network share. When I try to access
it from any other computer on the domain I am prompted for a User name
and Password. It does not matter how many times I enter the user name
and password, the prompt will just keep reappearing. It also does not
matter how I try to access the share. If I click on 'Run' and type \
\server\share I am presented with the authentication prompt. The same
also happens if I use 'net use <drive_letter>: \\server\share'. I
also cannot ping the server by name or IP. However...

From the server in question, I can access the share in the methods
described above. The server can ping itself by name.

I have File and Print Sharing enabled. I have NetBIOS over TCP/IP
enabled. The browser, workstation and server service are all started.

I would appreciate any help in this matter. Thank you.

Assuming this is not domain network, try to create the same username and
password on the both computers. Or this search result may help.

Unfortunately, I forgot to include some useful information. The share
that I cannot access is on a Windows 2003 Server. The machines that I
have tested accessing from include Windows XP, Windows 2000 and
Windows 2003 server. However, the server in question is multihomed.
The NetLogon service is starting though. Also, there are no real
errors showing up in the event logs.

Thanks for looking at my question.

Multihomed computer could be the issue. Posting the result of ipconfig /all
may help.

The routing looks good to me. You should be able to ping it. If not, check
any firewall or NAT settings. Also I don't see NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled.

I noticed that as well. However, if I look at the properties of the
NIC under TCP/IP I have it set to enabled instead of auto. But, I
can't ping it. It will resolve but not reply. The firewall is turned
off. There aren't any NAT settings. As you can see, the WAN NIC uses
a public IP.

Thank you,

Yes, I can ping localhost. I can also ping any other device by name
from the box in question. I'm willing to bet the problem is that it
is multihomed - I just can't figure out why it is not registering with
DNS on the internal side.

Thank you,

I finally got it!!! I might have neglected to mention before that
this is also an ISA server. I didn't really think anything of it
since all of this traffic was internal. However, as soon as I added a
rule to allow NetBIOS and RPC to the localhost - I was in! I guess
the firewall locks those down by default. Thanks to all the posts and
patience.
