Can you saturate a router?

I have a Belkin wireless cable router. It worked fine for more than a year
with 2 cabled and 1 wireless PCs (all XP SP2). Then suddenly my wireless
connection became unstable. Bought me a new wireless card, it seemed to go
well for some time, then misery began again. Finally thought that the
laptop
had gone crazy and replaced it with a pc with a powerline ethernet. This
works fine sometimes, but sometimes I can't get connection with the
router.

I've tried all kinds of settings, including a complete reinstall,
resetting
the router, installing new firmware etc.

Now my suspicion goes to the online games my kids play (like Knight
Online).
I read somewhere that these games need a lot of network connections (I
remember having changed the registry to increase the number of
simultaneous
connections)

My question: Could it be that the games (mostly played on the 2 cable
connected PCs) saturate the router and block access from the 3th PC (the
one
via powerline ethernet)?

And how to limit the number of simultaneous connections in case?

Thx,

Eric
