Can i use Windows Server 2003 Standard edition for clustering?

i have a 2003 std. edition. i have to advise regarding purchase of another
sever to make a 2-node cluster. can we go ahead with another std. edition?
please understrsnd that the i should be able to justify the price difference
if i say that server enterprise edition will be required!!

No, as aminimum you need Enterprise edition.

Hi Meinolf

thanks for answering my second thread!!

Actually i found an article onthe web which claims to use NLB and a two node
cluster (not MSCS) using Standard edition. so i wanted to know if there is
anyone else who has done this. can you help to figure out whether this can be
achieved?

Hello Mathew,

If you are talking about clustering you need Enterprise edition. With NLB
i have no experience. Please post the lnik article you mean, that i can have
a look on it. Maybe i find something.
