Can a USB device be accessed via a wireless connection?

I would like to place my USB scanner across the room from my computer. Is
anyone familiar with a product that will provide a wireless connection to a
USB device? I've seen wireless print servers, but what about a generic
wireless USB connection that could potentially be used for a scanner,
printer, camera, or any other USB device that would ordinarily require a
direct connection via a USB cable?

There are usb over home power cable units available. Little tiny box that
plugs into a power outlet and has a usb socket on it. A like wise box to
plug in near a computer.. They look rather groovie.

USB devices can be conneced with Bluetooth. You can get a USB plug that
transmits to a Bluetooth enabled computer. Also some printers already come
Bluetooth enabled.
