How can I setup auto-respond on Suse 7.2 with sendmail ?

Hi,

I have a Suse 7.2 linux box to get my home network connected to the internet.
The machine also acts as my mailserver running sendmail as MTA. Now I want to
set up an auto-respond service for my mail accounts as this service is used
by a lot of people. But how can I do so ? I have no idea where to start, the
only thing I have heard is that sendmail includes something like "vacation",
but I cannot find that.

vacation is a binary that answer message to sender only once (once a week
by defaut) with a static message (ex."Sorry, I'm on hollydays, ...").

try 'man vacation' :

create ~/.forward with the folowing content :

\eric, "|/usr/bin/vacation eric"

where 'eric' is your login

and edit your message in ~/.vacation.msg
