can ping the server but doesn't see it on the workgroup

i've installed a windows 2003 server and windows xp in a
network with a router for adsl. I set the ip parameters in both pc :
ip --> xp 192.168.1.10 server 192.168.1.20
sub 255.255.255.0 (both)
gateway 192.168.1.1 (both) (the adsl router ip)
and a dns ip..
the ping command goes well from xp to server and viceversa ... but they
doesn't see in the group !!!

Are you use ISP DNS? Also have you enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
