Can One GPS be Shared by Delorme SA and Netstumbler?

I travel extensively using DeLorme Street Atlas for navigation and have
my NEMA GPS connected to my serial port (COM1). SA works just fine.
I also use Netstumbler, as I travel, to find occasional open APs
(wireless access points) for communication. When I use Netstumbler by it's
self, it easily finds and uses my GPS, which allows me to create a lat/lon
file of locations, but when I run DeLorme AND Netstumbler together, DeLorme
appears to *capture* the GPS leaving Netstumbler without a GPS input.
Question: is it possible to simultaneously share my single GPS between
DeLorme and Netstumbler? If so how?Or must I purchase a second GPS and
connect it to perhaps my USB port?
TIA

Horrible non-software solution.
Purchase a USB serial port.
Wire a cable to copy the RX line over onto both.
A GPS in NEMA mode will just spew data, and should work fine.

Do you own a soldering iron?

What connector is the GPS connected to?

Right, you basically need to build a cable with one input, and
two outputs.
Go and look up the pinouts of the RS232 connector you are using (9
or 25 pin).
Now, connect up two appropriate sockets so that the ground and
recieve wires are connected together, and one plug which
plugs into the GPS lead and connects it's transmit and ground
outputs to the sockets.
Now, connect the GPS. One socket goes to the existing serial port and
one to a new USB serail port.
