Can not get TCP/IP networking to find network.

I can ping all computers on my network; however, get DNS
errors when trying to connect to internet. I can't find
other computers on my network through the search
function. I can ping the IP for www.microsoft.com, but
can't ping www.microsoft.com. I installed NETBIEU and the
network finds the computers on my local net and can share
folders and devices. Still no tcp/ip connectivity.
