No, it is not possible with the MN-700. They must be wired together.

What is the cheapest thing I could do to make this happen?
Could I plug a wireless adapter into the uplink port of a
cheap switch?

An ethernet cord would be cheaper.

Yes, but the point was to not have to bury an ethernet
cable under the carpet from one end of the 2nd floor of my
house to the other end of my basement.... Is there any
way to join two pre-existing networks wirelessly at the
switch?
