Can ISA (FIREWALL) server and IAS (RADIUS) server be run
on the same box? Are there any gotchas to doing it? Links
or any other feedback would be great.

Hi Rex,

Doesn't ISA support doing RADIUS?

Well, I just wanted to ask before I got in trouble.
Someone had mentioned to me briefly that they may not like
each other. This didn't make sense to me so I thought I'd
check here before I bogarted my RADIUS server.

Hi Rex,

I meant the ISA application itself. Doesn't it do firewalling, VPN, and
RADIUS in itself?

Jonathan,

I've searched a bit and cannot find anything to
support that ISA includes IAS(RADIUS) in the install. Can
you follow up on this and look into it? I'd really like to
know before I get to far into configuring IAS right now.

Thanks,

Rex Winn

Hi,

IAS and ISA should be compatible on the same server. ISA would need to be
configured to allow specific traffic for IAS (ie. RADIUS packets) depending
on the way you are using the IAS service.

Thank you,

Post over in the ISA group. You'll get good responses from there. ISA is a
unique animal and there are a got of "gotchas" with it. My MVP is in
ISA/Proxy2 and I still don't know about RADIUS, but there are guys over
there that should know without any trouble. The group name I always go into
is:

microsoft.public.isa
