Can IP address be interpreted into real domain name?

I need to download some information from a company's FTP site and they gave
me their ftp's ip address (ie. ftp://103.44.230.332). The problem is that
the information that I download is from my company's competition, so if they
know I'm downloading I can get into trouble (and maybe get fired). To
download the site I use a username/password so I'm not worried about them
downloading anything after I leave my office. But if they find somewhere (in
my PC or the server), that I visited this IP address, can they figure out
what company it belongs to? And once I log out, can they still have access
to what I downloaded? The information I want to download is an 80 MB PDF
file, but I'm worried that they may trace it once I leave the office.

Thanks.

Sure they could find out the company name. It probably could appear in the
firewall logs with your computer's IP address as the computer communicating
with it. Personally I think you would be nuts to take the risk if it is
against policy. --- Steve

Thanks for the info. Since our copany's so small, we don't have a firewall.
We have direct access to the Net. Is it still impossible?

General note: a lot of the people who reply in here are themselves systems
administrators, and you're unlikely to get a lot of help with questions like
"how can I sneak things by my own sysadmins at work" (kind of like asking a
cop where to buy dope).

I suggest you do this at home, not at work. Don't know what kind of logging
they do in your office, but nothing you do is untraceable if they want to
find out and know how.
