Where can I get help?

I tried setting up a network on my dad's computer and now
he can't connect to the internet with AOL DSL.

I've spend hours on the phone calling AOL and Microsoft,
posted on dozens of message boards and newsgroups and
taken the computer to three computer repair shops who
can't fix the problem.

If I can't get the internet to work on my dad's computer I
have to buy him a new one and I don't know what else I can
do.

Who can help me figure out what the heck is wrong with
this?

All i want to do is get rid of the stupid home network.
That's it. Is there any other way to do this other than
reimaging the hard drive and starting over? Because I
can't do that since my dad didn't keep all of his disks.

Staci Dearie;

Please respond with a detailed, description of the Network
you set up for dad. Did you make a mistake and use FIFO
SDRAM's?.....well,if you did, they wont work. Poor old
dad.

Thanks for replying, Melvin!

I was trying to network my laptop and the desktop computer
to share files. I didn't want to connect to the internet
with the laptop.

I set up the home networking with the networking wizard
but I never could get the desktop to see the laptop.

But now I can't get the AOL DSL modem to work. It stalls
out at step 5 - connecting to AOL. I can't even get the
dial-up modem to connect to AOL. It stops at step 5 too.

AOL says it a Microsoft problem and there's some sort of
device conflict and get rid of the home network.

I'm not sure about FIFO SDRAMs. I just used the networking
wizard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Stacia

All i did was use the networking wizard. I just wanted to
transfer files from my dad's computer to my laptop. It
didn't work, but that's not the problem.

Now the computer won't connect to AOL through either the
DSL modem or dial-up. BOth stall out at Step 5 -
connecting to AOL.

AOL says its a device conflict and to just get rid of the
Home Network.

There has to be some way to get rid of it. Delete a setup
file or soemthing?

Thanks,

Stacia

Thanks for replying, but all I need to do is delete the
stupid network. I don't need help setting it up. I want it
gone so AOL will work.

Thanks,

Stacia
