I have been using this open network and have gotten to the internet ok.
Recently I am able to get to the router but not the internet. Could it be
more than the router not having access to the internet?

Thanks
Bob

Yes. Whose access point is this? If it's a neighbor's, they may have gotten
wise and locked it out.

Then don't use it. You can be prosecuted for theft of service.
