where can i find the "core dump" file

hi everyone:
i am fresher to linux&c , so where does the "core dump" file
ususally locate in? my system is debian sarge,thanks!

try to
#ulimit -c 10000 (or some other number)

before you run the program witch "core dump"

It's usually located in the directory you were in when you started the
program that dumped. For a program started from a GUI, probably your
home directory.

Assuming that the argument to ulimit -c is not 0, that is.
