DOS, Win3.1 & 3.11, Win95, NT (sp3 and older) cannot connect to a 2003
Domain if it is running in native 2003 mode without having to hack the
registry and disabled some security features.

Another option is to create an old NT4 (or 2000) Domain and setup a trust
between the two Domains, then the old clients log into the old NT4 (or
2000) Domain and access 2003 resources via the Trust.

Check out this article.

Windows Server 2003 Domain

You can connect a DOS machine by disabling the following in the local or
domain security policy.

Computer configuration\Windows settings\Security settings\Local
policies\Security options\
Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always)

It works for me in native 2003 mode.
