Can I do this?

I have anSBC Yahoo DSL connection, a Linksys WRT110 connected to the modem,
an XP desktop connected via ethernet cable & a vista laptop connecting via
wireless.
I want to be able to share a printer connected to the desktop & print to it
from the laptop.
This should work, right?
Both computers are in the MSHOME workgroup, but don't 'see' each other.
What am I missing?

Sure, you should be able to see each other. Can you ping each other by IP?
If not, check the firewall settings.

Firewalls were off on both, but it just dawned on me, one of them is running
that Norton 360 & I'll bet it's blocking it.

Hi
Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local
traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should
be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers
on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party
Firewall instructions.
General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Vista File and Printer Sharing-

Ok, I can see both computers in workgroup, printer shared from XP machine is
listed on Vista laptop as an available printer.
I connect, yada, yada, yada, print a test page & nothing comes out of
printer.
There is a '1' under the icon for shared printer, but opening the printer
shows nothing there.
If I look at printer from XP, nothing shows in print que.
Where did it go?

Many Vista print issue can be fixed by adding it as local printer first and
then re-mapping it as network printer. This search result may help.

I'm getting a 'problem communicating with the printer' message.
I can type \\mycomputer\printer in run on the vista laptop & it will open,
so where is the problem?
